Wooden Bar Stools for Restaurants and Bars – Beech and Oak

Wooden bar stools bring natural warmth to bar counters, wine bars, pubs and hotel lounges. Seatingpoint's wooden stools are manufactured in Europe from solid beech and oak, with a choice of stains and either a wooden or upholstered seat, at counter and bar heights.

Why choose solid wood for bar seating?

  • Rigidity – hardwood legs joined by stretchers resist the sideways forces of guests climbing on and off.
  • Repairability – scuffed footrests and seats can be sanded and re-stained.
  • Coordination – stools can match the wooden restaurant chairs in the same dining room.

Wood seat or upholstered seat?

A solid wood seat is easy to clean and suits pubs and casual bars. An upholstered seat in vinyl or fabric feels warmer in wine bars and hotel lounges. Pick from our stain and color finishes to match counters and flooring.

Check height and stain in person: a wooden bar stool sample reaches you 2–4 business days after dispatch. For quantities and quotes, contact us.

Wooden bar stools: FAQ

Is beech or oak better for a bar stool?

Both are dense European hardwoods suited to commercial use. Beech has an even grain that takes dark stains uniformly, making it popular for classic and colored finishes. Oak shows a stronger grain and is often chosen in natural, light finishes for modern or Scandinavian interiors.

Which seat height should a wooden bar stool have?

Match the stool to the surface. For a counter of about 36 in (91 cm), choose a seat of 24–26 in (61–66 cm). For a bar of about 42 in (107 cm), choose 28–30 in (71–76 cm). Measure the counter before ordering, as heights vary between venues.

Will wooden stools stand up to spills in a bar?

A properly lacquered finish protects the wood from beer, wine and cleaning products, provided spills are wiped promptly. Avoid soaking the stool or using abrasive pads. An upholstered vinyl seat adds an extra layer of protection where spills are frequent.
